Teko Modise is delighted that the Absa Premiership season has come to an end as the games were coming thick and fast for Mamelodi Sundowns in all competitions.
“Finally the season is over and it was a good run. It may not have finished the way that we wanted it to end but nonetheless we finished second. This will at least slow down the pace of the games that we have to play. Now we can focus on the CAF Champions League games and have time prepare properly,” said Modise.
Asked if the team was not disappointed with not being able to lift the PSL title, Modise chose to be content with what the team has already achieved in this past season.
“Yes it would have been great to lift the title but you cannot win everything. The past season was a historical one for the team and us as players individually. So if we just linger on the disappointment of not lifting the PSL title we would not be doing ourselves justice. We had a great season.”
Downs will next face ES Tunis in their CAF competition fixture on June 02.
