Teko Modise was on the losing end on Saturday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium as Cape Town City went down 4-2 on penalties against Supersport United.
The General as he is affectionately known has not lost hope though on a better performance in future. He also feels that the team can finish at the top end of the Absa Premiership come the end of the season, that which will allow them to have another shot at the domestic cup.
“Anything is possible. It’s football and there’s still next season again,” said Modise, who is hoping City can finish higher than the third place they achieved in the Absa Premiership last season.
”For us to do that we need to finish higher this season, so we need to focus now and be better.”
“The game was actually open and I feel we should’ve won,” he added.
“Supersport were just catching us on the counter attack. They put more numbers forward. We were actually the ones who had opportunities to hurt them but we didn’t utilise the chances.
“As i said earlier on, it is game of football; if you don’t score you are not going to win the game.”
