Mamelodi Sundowns cruised to a 2-0 win against Mariveni United in their last 32 Nedbank Cup fixture on Monday but Teko Modise says there is never an easy cup game.
“Look it was a good win for the team. We played well and at the end of the day got the desired results.
You hear a lot of people say it was an easy game for us to play. I do not think so. Remember that this is a competition where all the teams are looking to impress and play at their best. So we had to respect the opponents just like any team we play,” said Modise.
Downs are through to the next stage of the competition and ‘The General’ has welcomed any opponent that would be drawn against them going forward. He also added that it would be too early to even think of lifting the domestic silverware.
“We are professionals and will just wait to know who to face next. We do not wish to get any specific team so we welcome whoever we will have to face. As for thinking of lifting the trophy, it is too early to even think of that. We are through to the next round and will take it a game at a time.”
